Dear membership,

Professional Whip Bre has taken the reins on the rabbit pack and her first outing was Wednesday at the Farm at Butterflat Creek.

It was a beautiful fall day-sunny, no W, 55 degrees and the footing was perfect. 12 riders, 4 of the riders were going out of the ring for the first time. This was my first time riding outside of the ring since my injury 5 months ago. It was a GREAT day!

Huntsman Bre gathered the 8 rabbit hunters and headed south along the creek that our barn is named after. We hunted for about 1.5 hours, following the creek, searching the terraces, checking out the brush piles, the tall grasses and even the creek itself. One rabbit hunter took a tumble off the edge of the creek and wasn’t able to make it back up.  Whipper-in Jubilee Miller dismounted and gave her horse to one of the young riders to hold. She was riding one of the few horses that wasn’t being goofy. She learned in about 2 minutes how to pony a horse.

We returned to the barn for mac-n-cheese, tacos and cookies. Everyone had so much fun! Rabbit hunting is the perfect place to take out those young riders or the young horse. Huntsman Bre will be taking them out again Dec 2 at Yutan, 10 am. Make plans to come out =)

what a perfect day! I can see whipper-in Jubilee Miller and up in the sky a hot air ballon
