Dear fellow fox hunter,

I hope everyone had a restful and blessed Thanksgiving. So very many people, things and activities that we are thankful for.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to ride and hunt, most especially to hunt with NHH and all the friends that I have made while hunting these last 20 years. This past weekend has me reflecting on this as we traveled to Tipton to enjoy the fellowship and graciousness of our hosts Tom and Lyse. They open their home, their pastures and barn and their land for us to hunt across. Here is a post that Lyse wrote on NHH FB page: ‘Thank you so much for coming to Tipton with an iffy weather forecast. I appreciate Deb Graham and Susan Bingham for providing beautiful brunches and Alana (McNutt) and Elizabeth Conyers for the lovely Stirrup cups. Will always remember Deb’s elegant whoopee break at the edge of the ravine in a corn field! Jenny Wheatley teaching us how to make authentic Vietnamese Spring rolls! A dab of healthy food amongst the mountain everyone else brought to share! Susan’s birthday party. All the little kids! Wayne Van Pelt has converted me to biscuits and gravy! The guests who came were delightful and there was such happiness in the air! Tom and I were surprised and touched by the beautiful framed Covertside, the classic hunting tome “Never Outfoxed” and the other swag from the recent hound championships where the hound that Deb named did so well (Lyse). We built our property just for the purpose of foxhunting weekend fun and Cedar Run is now very quiet….Until next time. Bless you all and happy Thanksgiving. XXOXX Lyse and Tom”

I can only add that we had a great day hunting on Sunday. Huntsman Dave said the hounds worked so well that he placed in his top 5 hunts. They ended that fabulous work by pushing a big black coyote out into the open and those that saw him were amazed at his size. He was able to escape through all the corn that was still waiting to be harvested.

these were so good! Holly Barrett made theseLyse actually means Nebraska, not Monte =)
