I hope Spring is finding you outside enjoying this beautiful weather we’ve been having =)
Saturday we had our first ever Junior beagle hunt, 12 yrs and younger.
Tom and Patty Hastings, landowners of the beautiful Rawhide Creek Ranch allowed us to come and ride their beautiful ranch.
There was a pretty good rain the night before, just enough to kill all (or at least a lot of them) the flies =)
Huntsman Dave brought our 4-5 beagles (apparently I can’t even count that small number) and gave a small talk about what to expect with beagle hunting and coached all the kids on how to shout Tally Ho!
We had 23 mounted riders and about 20 walkers. Some parents walked next to their young riders with a lead rope to make sure there weren’t any escapees.
Huntsman Dave took the beagles into the small forest North of the house and we rode around until a fallen tree pushed us out into the open fields. We trotted and walked about 2 miles- those walking on foot were pooped!
Adam Gengenbach and Brit Vegas donated all the food and had cute t-shirts for all the junior riders!
Jenny Nguyen and Larry Stava walked along side and took some fabulous pictures!
